Large parts of our planet have a desperate need for clean drinking water. A society that lacks this basic human need, will always be on the brink of collapse. No wonder that the United Nations acknowledge this major issue, calling the time we live today “The Decade of Water”. Without safe water or sanitation, people are trapped in a cycle of poverty and disease. Across the developing world, millions of women are wasting precious time collecting dirty water, children are dying from preventable diarrhea diseases, and communities have open sewers running through them.
And that’s why organizations such as WellWishes want to contribute to the solution of this major issue, in an effort to solve the world’s water problem.
The time to act is now! And that’s exactly what WellWishis is doing.
WellWishes is a small, but flexible and well supported non-profit organization. The foundation of this association originates from the technical know-how provided by years of experience in the field of civic engineering as taught by Windesheim University of applied sciences. This is one of Holland leading organizations in the practical field of technical water management solutions.
Our main goals:
- To secure poor people’s access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation.
- To support local labor and working crews in developing their capacity to construct and maintain safe systems that provide clean drinking water.
- To further develop the environmental friendly way of drilling water wells using manual labor.
